Bergamot
& Ivy Care Instructions for Bromeliad
(Fantasia, Tillandsia, Vriesia, Tricolor, etc.)
Bromeliads
are part of the pineapple family. They produce a rosette of
leaves from a central, short stem growing point. Tricolor
blushing bromeliad is one of the most colorful members of
this group and is from Brazil. New plant leaves are green
with a cream center until the plant initiates flowering. Then
the leaves in the center of the plant blush pink, followed
by small blue flowers.
Bromeliads
serve well as table, shelf, or desk accent plants.
Care
Instructions:
| Light: |
Medium
to high light is suggested for best growth. Bromeliad
will tolerate low light levels, but will not flower
unless it has been induced to flower before being placed
in low light. |
| Water: |
Keep
soil uniformly moist but not wet. Bromeliads can tolerate
dry soil, but prefer to have water in their rosette
of leaves. |
| Temperature: |
Maintain
temperatures between 65 and 80*F. This plant will tolerate
lows of 45*F without injury. |
