Bergamot & Ivy Care Instructions for Hydrangea/Saxifrangaceae

Hydrangeas have been popular garden plants in Europe and Asia for hundreds of years. This species originated in Japan; it is hardy in area where winter temperatures do not fall below 0*F (-17*C).

Colors include white, pink, and blue. A high acid content in the soil is required for bright colored Blue flowers otherwise the flowers will be.

Flowers last from one to three weeks depending on temperature and other environmental factors.

Plants can be wintered over as container plants in a frost in a garage or a basement. You can resume regular care in the Spring. Repotting at this time will give you larger, fuller plants.

Care Instructions:

Light: Bright indirect light or partial shade outdoors.
Water: May need water daily to keep soil moist.
Temperature: Optimum days 65 to 70*F (18-21*)
Night, minimum 50 to 55*F (10-13*C)
